Q. what is CBD?
A. CBD is cannabidiol, a naturally occurring organic compound found in many plants including hemp, a type of cannabis plant. It is safe, non-addictive and does not get you high. Your body creates its own cannabinoids, which are responsible for giving you a runner’s high and bringing your body back into balance after the demands of physical exercise.
Q. is cbd legal in the UK?
A. CBD is legal in the UK, across Europe, North America and most of the rest of the world. The Olympic World Anti-Doping Agency has permitted it to be used by athletes.
Q. is CBD safe?
A. Yes, CBD is safe and non-addictive. The World Health Organisation looked at many clinical trials and has confirmed CBD is a safe supplement. It is a potent compound, which is why it is so effective and popular, so adults should not exceed 70 mg per day. that’s a lot - most people find an effective dose is between 15 and 20mg taken once or twice a day. A few people suffering mild side effects at very high doses, specifically a slightly upset tummy is occasionally reported. Do not take CBD when pregnant or breastfeeding. CBD is not recommended for children under the age of 18.
Q. does CBD get you high?

Q. how much cbd to take?
A. The simple answer is to start with a low dose, 5mg twice a day, for 2-3 days. And then build up in 5mg increments until you have the desired effect. Typically, people feel the desired effect at 15-20mg dose taken once or twice per day. Most people find taking CBD regularly has a positive cumulative effect. Taking CBD occasionally will usually require a higher dose when taken.

A. Oils under the tongue act quickly and taste a little funky. Capsules take longer to have an effect and tends to last longer. Many people choose edibles, mints, gummies, chocolates as a tasty treat. CBD drinks are a great alternative to alcohol or caffeine. Topical balms work locally. CBD bath bomb bombs and massage oil are great way to indulge. And sensual oil may take you to new highs.
Q. when to take CBD?
A. When to take CBD depends on your need. Most people take CBD twice a day. Taking CBD regularly tends to have a positive cumulative effect. As an aid to sleep take it in the evening before bed. For help through the day, take it in the morning and late afternoon. For sports, taking CBD before you play can help your body through the game. Taken after sport, cbd can aid recovery.
Q. how long does CBD take to work?
A. People tend to feel the effect of CBD in about one hour. Oils under the tongue (sub-lingually) act quicker. Capsules and edibles take a little longer. Topical balms act quickly on the skin and take 30 minutes for deeper tissue effects. Vape also acts quickly, but lasts a short while.
Q. how does CBD work?
A. CBD works on the bodies endocannabinoid system which distributed throughout the body (and indeed that of all mammals). The body produces its own endocannabinoids to help bring the body back to balance. CBD is thought to work in a similar way.
Q. can I overdose CBD?
A. The short answer is no. The World Health Organisation has confirmed CBD is a safe supplement with few people suffering mild side effects at very high doses, a slightly upset tummy is occasionally reported. The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) requires us to say as a food supplement you should not take more than 70 mg per day.
Q. what about other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids?
A. CBD is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis hemp flower oil. The oil also contains terpenes and flavonoids, which are the active ingredient in aromatherapy products. Different combinations can dramatically increase the effect and make the effect more specific e.g. energising or calming.
Q. what about full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD and deep spectrum vs isolate cbd?
A. Full spectrum CBD contain all of the active compounds extracted from the plant including a little THC (the trippy happy stuff which can get you high if taken to excess, ours contain very little THC and you won’t get high.) Many people find CBD and a little THC create the entourage effect, making the product more potent.
- full spectrum is usually found to be the most effective, it can taste quite funky which some people enjoy others not so much.
- broad spectrum CBD products contain everything but the THC. These are also very effective. Again, they can taste a little funky.
- deep spectrum CBD products contain specific blends of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids to treat specific conditions. These are very effective for their specific conditions.
- isolate CBD is pure with all the other active compounds removed. It is tasteless. It’s often used in liquids as it blends better. It can be processed to be more bio-available -easier for your body to absorb.
Q. what’s the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD oil?
A. CBD oil comes from the flower of cannabis hemp plants and is sometimes called hemp oil. Hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of hemp plants. CBD oil contains the range of active cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. Hemp seed oil does not have these elements but does contains many other potent nutrients including magnesium and is often used as a carrier oil for CBD oils and topical applications. Hemp seed oil is also great for cooking and salad dressings. Hemp seed oil can be treated like a virgin olive oil.
